PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Our team’s goal is to reverse Lake Tahoe’s declining water clarity and promote its native ecosystem by inviting communities (of humans and pets) to help remove tiny, invasive Mysis shrimp from the lake and turn them into delicious pet treats. These invasive Mysis are a readily available and unique alternative protein.
ROLE & CONTRIBUTIONS
I am the Brand Strategist and Creative Director for Shrimply Blue and have developed the voice, strategy and identity of Shrimply Blue. When I joined the team there was no official name, website, branding, brand values, or social media strategy. I worked with a collaborative and cross-disciplinary team to develop a story and branding that are true to the mission and vision of the brand.
PRODUCT BRANDING
The branding for Shrimply Blue needed to do some heavy lifting. As a start up, there was very little brand awareness and our team needed to raise thousands of dollars for a successful launch. It also needed to make its dense food- and environmental sciences story accessible to our target market and general public.
The heart of Shrimply Blue is a mix of the love of fun, love of pets and love of the outdoors. The branding is composed of playful hues, textures and icons that are inviting, friendly and accessible. It also speaks to Lake Tahoe’s iconic and world renown blue waters. The dog icon gives a playful nod to the Mysis shrimp shape. Our product and social media images captured the beauty of the outdoors, as well as, our love for our furry friends. To date, we have developed merchandise, marketing content, social media content, a website and packaging and continue to tell the brand story.
